The 8 Pillars of Gerson Therapy
Pillar 1: [Salt-Free Diet] — Resetting Cellular Electrical Potential
“Let’s start with salt.”
This seemingly insignificant seasoning is, in fact, a hidden accelerator of modern diseases—especially cancer—embedded in our biological “soil.”
✅ In Gerson Therapy, we strictly follow these principles:
Eliminate all forms of added salt (including table salt, sea salt, soy sauce, and processed seasonings)
Retain only the natural sodium found in fruits and vegetables
Simultaneously increase potassium intake through plant-based foods and fresh juices
(with exceptions for cases of electrolyte imbalance)
Important: A salt-free diet ≠ bland food.
Its real purpose is physiological, not culinary.
The True Objectives of the Salt-Free Diet:
🌀 Drain excess water and toxins from cells
⚡ Restore the membrane’s electrical potential
🔋 "Recharge" the cells and establish the foundation for repair
⚠️ Why is the “Salt Out, Potassium In” strategy so critical?
In a high-sodium environment, cells lose potassium, membrane potentials become unstable, and water retention disrupts normal metabolic flow. This pushes the entire cellular repair system into a standstill.
But a cell that aims to heal doesn’t first need nutrients or medication—it needs to be electrically recharged.
In other words:
When salt exits and potassium enters, the cell has a chance to reboot.
That’s why we emphasize:
“Salt-free” is not a restriction—it's the first electrical switch in the healing mechanism.
